Ohai, I iz back

http://blog.opensourcenerd.com/upload/its-beautiful-cat

Metacat is looking at this blog entry.

So, the kitties are back!

Nothing else as exciting as that, but logged in users can upload files via a link next to the comment input box. I will probably lock this down later, perhaps to users I have personally approved, or only to ones with the security.BLOGGER clearance, but for now it's open... Do not abuse it or I will abuse you.

Of note, if you're someone who likes ReST over BBCode (no, I will not listen to the chirping crickets), I've got syntax highlighting via the sourcecode directive:

print('Hello, world!')

Still to implement:

  • Editing of...
    • Entries
    • People
    • Comments (?)
  • Deletion of...
    • Entries
    • People
    • Comments
    • Bad images
  • Fixing of the Contents menu to have the proper links
  • Some interesting content

Meh. For now, click on the "source" link and see how pretty (and restful) this post in ReST is.

Okay okay, bad pun, don't hurt me!

woot!

good luck with your list :)

Ayup. Now that stuff is up and running, and the backend changes for my "list" above are not really blog-worthy, my next entry will probably be a real one about Using Coconuts.

Probably about how WSGI works...

Hi flip!

First off I would like to say that I do like your blog a lot. But here is a suggestion for improvement: I don't like the flash of unstyled content before the beautiful background image and other css take their places. I think there may be some hack to fix it...or you could try reducing the file sizes of the images that you load...or something.

This is only a test.

Yay! Welcome back!

Well, I'm not sure why that happens, but I suspect it's because it takes a while for the CSS to load the background image, which is rather... large. I don't know how to fix it right now (other than use a different background), but I'll be on the lookout for a solution.
